Deep Cleaning vs Regular Cleaning: What Is Actually Included

Regular cleaning maintains the surfaces you use every week — counters, sinks, toilets, floors, dusting. Deep cleaning adds the places where buildup hides: inside the oven, cabinet and pantry interiors, baseboards, door frames, light fixtures, vents and ceiling fan blades. Same rooms, different depth.

If you only remember one rule: regular cleaning keeps a clean home clean; deep cleaning takes a home back to clean.

What does regular cleaning include?

Every recurring visit covers the four zones of the home:

  • Kitchen — counters and backsplash, sink, stovetop, appliance exteriors, floors, trash
  • Bathrooms — toilet, sink and countertop, shower or tub, mirrors, floors
  • Bedrooms — beds made, surfaces dusted, high-touch points, floors
  • Common areas — dusting, switches and handles, floors

The complete list, item by item, is on our home page: open the room-by-room checklist and toggle between Recurring and Deep Cleaning to see exactly which items switch on.

What does deep cleaning add?

The deep-only items are the ones that do not need weekly attention but punish neglect: inside the oven, cabinet and pantry shelf interiors, vanity interiors, hand-washed baseboards and door frames, and light fixtures, vents and ceiling fan blades. In South Florida these matter more than people expect — year-round AC circulates dust onto fan blades and vents faster than in drier climates.

Which one do I need?

Answer with one question: when was the last professional cleaning?

Moving in or out? That is its own variant of deep cleaning, with empty-property attention to cabinet interiors and tracks — see move-in and move-out cleaning.

Does deep cleaning cost more?

Per visit, yes, because it takes longer — the interiors and detail work are the difference. But it is a one-time reset: after it, recurring visits are shorter, which is exactly how the cost math works.
